| <back 10-30-2007 Congress Passes Seven-Year Internet Tax Moratorium Following the Senate passage of a revised seven-year Internet tax moratorium on October 25, 2007 by voice vote, the House on October 30, 2007, approved the same changes, by a 405 to 0 vote, to the Internet Tax Freedom Act Amendments Act of 2007 (HR 3648). The legislation would extend the current moratorium on Internet access taxes and multiple and discriminatory taxes for an additional seven years. The legislation would also put additional restrictions on the grandfather status of certain state taxes. The legislation now moves to the President for his expected signature. |
