House Approves Four-Year Internet Tax Moratorium

The House on October 16, 2007, approved, by a 405 to 2 vote, the Internet Tax Freedom Act Amendments Bill of 2007 (HR 3648). The legislation would extend the current moratorium on Internet access taxes and multiple and discriminatory taxes for an additional four years. The main focus of debate was whether the moratorium should be made permanent.
