House Passes Highway Reauthorization Tax Bill

The House on March 10, 2005 passed the Transportation Equity Bill (HR 3) that included the Highway Reauthorization Tax Bill. The legislation would extend motor fuel taxes and certain nonfuel excise taxes at their current rates through September 30, 2011. The bill now moves to the Senate, where it was not clear how quickly the legislation would be taken up.
