What is IntelliConnect?
IntelliConnect is the revolutionary research platform that will streamline your workflow, improve accuracy and efficiency and give you unprecedented access to CCH's world-class content. IntelliConnect is a functional and technological evolution to our current, renowned research platform, known as Tax Research NetWork™ and Internet Research NetWork™.
How is it different from Tax Research NetWork and Internet Research NetWork?
Picking up where Tax Research NetWork and Internet Research NetWork left off, IntelliConnect is a robust system with groundbreaking research capabilities and advanced customization tools. Below are a few of the key features/functionality found on IntelliConnect.
What are the key features on IntelliConnect?
- Intuitive and innovative research capabilities: IntelliConnect is easy to learn and use with its simple, modern interface. Everything is accessible from one screen.
- Easy searching and browsing: Use either or both Search or Browse to find desired information or documents. To begin a search, simply type in your search term — there's no need to pre-select what publications to search. IntelliConnect rapidly searches all the content in your subscription so you don't miss important documents.
- Filtering for fine-tuned results: Select different ways to sort results using our "filters." Quickly narrow down results list to locate exactly what you're looking for, such as Explanations or information on a specific State Tax Type or a Practice Tool.
- Split-screen display for easier navigation: Easily view your results list and documents at the same time.
- Multiple searches saved in tab format: Never lose your place while you work! You can have five research sessions open at the same time.
- Search within a search for refined results: Easily refine results by conducting a search within a set of search results.
Are there any features that were available on Internet Research NetWork or Tax Research NetWork that are not available on IntelliConnect?

When do I transition from Tax Research NetWork or Internet Research NetWork to IntelliConnect?
You will be notified when your account(s) will transition from Tax Research NetWork or Internet Research NetWork to IntelliConnect. You will receive messages on Tax Research NetWork or Internet Research NetWork when you log in notifying you about what you need to do to register for IntelliConnect and when you need to complete these simple steps. When you register for IntelliConnect, the system will transition your existing customized features (such as Trackers, Favorites, Research Folders) from Tax Research NetWork or Internet Research NetWork to IntelliConnect and also establish your new user credentials that you will use for logging in to IntelliConnect.
Why do I need to register for IntelliConnect?
You need to register for IntelliConnect so you create a new User ID and password for the new system. Your user ID will be your email address and your password will be of your choice.
How long do I have to register for IntelliConnect?
You will have two weeks to register. After that two-week period, users will be automatically redirected to IntelliConnect.
Will I use the same login process?
No, you will create a new User ID and password for IntelliConnect. Your User ID will be your email address and you can create your own password. If you log in to Tax Research NetWork or Internet Research NetWork via IP authentication, you will use your same email address with IntelliConnect.
Can I use IntelliConnect at the same time as I use Tax Research NetWork or Internet Research NetWork?
Once you register for IntelliConnect you will no longer be able to access Tax Research NetWork or Internet Research NetWork. Once registered, you will be redirected to IntelliConnect when you log in to Tax Research NetWork or Internet Research NetWork.
Can I go back to Tax Research NetWork or Internet Research NetWork once I've registered for IntelliConnect?
Your Tax Research NetWork or Internet Research NetWork ID and password will no longer work once you register for IntelliConnect.
What if I have more than one Tax Research NetWork or Internet Research NetWork ID for different content? How does that work on IntelliConnect?
You will only have one ID (your email address) with IntelliConnect. You will be able to search and view all of the content that you subscribe to in one convenient place.
Do I have to register at the same time as everyone else in my organization?
You and your co-workers may register at any time during the two-week period.
What happens if I don't register?
If you don't register during the two-week period, you will be automatically redirected to IntelliConnect when the two-week period is over.
What happens to my Research Folders, Favorites, Trackers, History?
Your Research Folders, Favorites and Trackers that you've set up previously on Tax Research NetWork or Internet Research NetWork will be transitioned to IntelliConnect once you register. Your History will start fresh once you start using IntelliConnect. Note that the conversion may take up to 24 hours.
What happens to the Link Express and Browser Favorite URLs that I've created to content on Tax Research NetWork or Internet Research NetWork?
The links that you've created using Link Express to publications and documents will work on IntelliConnect too. Note that Link Express links to larger content areas may not work and should be updated once your register for IntelliConnect. Your browser favorite URLs will not longer be available.
Is all my content that's available on Tax Research NetWork or Internet Research NetWork currently on IntelliConnect?
Yes. All of the content that you subscribe to on Tax Research NetWork or Internet Research NetWork is available on IntelliConnect.
How do I know what content is available in my subscription?
All of the content available in your subscription is listed within Browse. Simply click on the "Browse" link in the "Quick Bar" and then click through the browse tree using the "+" and "-" icons.
Has CCH maintained all workflow tools (Smart Charts™, Topic Navigator, and CCH@Hand™)?
Yes. All of the workflow tools such as Smart Charts and Topic Navigator have been maintained on IntelliConnect and are grouped as "Practice Tools." You can easily access Practice Tools from the Quick Bar, a Search Results list, and the "Browse" menu-tree. There will be a new CCH@Hand version for IntelliConnect users.

I just moved from Tax Research NetWork or Internet Research NetWork to IntelliConnect and I don't know where to start, what should I do?

- Interactive Help - Provides you with on-the-spot assistance as you need it. Whenever you see the "balloon" icon in IntelliConnect, simply click it for additional information. The information displayed will guide you through a particular feature or provide you with useful tips should you need additional help.
IntelliConnect also provides you with Interactive Help for selected features when you use them for the very first time. These interactive messages automatically pop up. You can also adjust settings for IntelliConnect Help in Preferences.
Where can I find My Trackers? My Favorites? My Research Folders?
Trackers, Favorites and Research Folders are all located on the IntelliConnect homepage. Simply click the icons or links on the Quick Bar.
