With Login Express, you can log in to your product right from your desktop.
Double-click the Login Express system tray icon located in the bottom right corner of your screen in the Windows taskbar.
OR
Double-click the Login Express desktop icon located on your Windows desktop along with your other program icons.
Your browser will open, your Internet Service Provider will connect (if applicable), and you'll go directly to the My CCH tab.
If
you did not type in your User ID and Password during the installation
process, Login Express will stop at the Login page so you can type in
your User ID and Password and click on Enter. You can add or change your
User ID and Password at any time.

When you install Login Express, an icon is placed in your system tray in the bottom right corner of your screen and another icon is placed on your desktop. When you click once on the system tray icon, the Login Express Toolbar will appear. When you click twice on the system tray icon, you will be logged into Tax Research NetWork.
Here are the buttons and functions available on the Login Express toolbar:
Log in to Tax Research NetWork — Log in directly to the My CCH tab.
News — Go directly to your personal Tax Tracker News page. (Available for Tax Research NetWork subscribers only.)
Research Folders — Log in directly to your Research Folders page.
Home Page — Go to the CCH Group Tax and Accounting home page.
ppII Forms — Start CCH's forms product if you subscribe.
ClientRelate — Link to the CCH ClientRelate tab.
Search for Citations — Go directly to specific documents with Citation Search.
Code Quick Link — Search for an Internal Revenue Code section.
Search My CCH — Search your favorite publications with Search Express. (Available for Tax Research NetWork subscribers only).
Always on top — Click once to make the toolbar always appear on top on your desktop.
View Login Express options and help — Set your Login Express preferences and view help for the program.
This feature is available only for Tax Research NetWork subscribers.
Click once on the Login Express system tray icon and click the News button.
OR
Right-click the Tax Research NetWork desktop icon and select View Today's Tax Tracker News.
Your browser will open, your Internet Service Provider will connect (if applicable), and you'll go directly to your Tax Tracker personalized news page.
If

With Login Express, you can either search all the publications you have selected on your My CCH Desktop Favorites tab or search for a specific IRC Section. This feature is available for Tax Research NetWork users only.
Click once on the Login Express system tray icon and click the Code Quick Link tab.
OR
Right-click the Login Express desktop icon and select Search My CCH Desktop Publications.
Type the section number, e.g., IRC 167(a).
Click Go. You will automatically be logged in and your search be will performed.
This feature is only available for Tax Research NetWork subscribers.
Click once on the Login Express icon on your system tray and click the Code Quick Link tab.
OR
Right-click the Login Express desktop icon and select Search My CCH Desktop Publications.
Type your search terms.
Click Go. You will automatically be logged in and your search be will performed.
If you know the citation or the number of a document you want to view, you can go directly to that document right from your desktop.
To go directly to a document:
Click once on the Login Express system tray icon and click the Search for Citations button, or right-click the Login Express desktop icon and select Search for Citations.
Double-click the publication that contains the document you're looking for.
Only the most popular publications are listed.
Double-click the appropriate citation format.
Only the most popular citation formats are
listed.
Type the citation number in the box at the bottom of the template and click OK.
Your browser will open, your Internet Service Provider will connect (if applicable), and you'll log in automatically. Then, Tax Research NetWork will locate the document.
If you did not type in your User ID and Password
during the installation process, Login Express will stop at the Login
page so you can type in your User ID and Password and click on Enter.

Setting your Login Express options
If you want to download additional product citation templates for your subscription, follow these steps:
In Windows Explorer, navigate to the Login Express program folder on your hard drive: C:\CCHLOGIN.
In CCHLOGIN, locate the citation template file fast.bin and rename it to distinguish it from the new template file you will be downloading. For example, rename the file fast.old.
Log in to CCH Internet Tax Research NetWork.
Scroll to the bottom of any screen in the program.
Click the link in the prompt Click here to download the link templates for your publications.
At the File Download dialog box, choose Save this file to disk and click OK.
Save the download file cchlink.bin to the Login Express program folder on your hard drive: C:\CCHLOGIN.
Once the file is saved, return to Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\CCHLOGIN.
In CCHLOGIN, locate the file cchlink.bin and rename it fast.bin.
The downloaded template is now your active template file. The next time you do a Citation Search from Login Express, you will see the new citation templates listed after the standard templates.
If you want to revert to the standard citation
templates, rename fast.bin to
fast.new and then rename the original
template file (e.g., fast.old)
to fast.bin.
Login Express allows you to go directly to information on tax.cchgroup.com. From the Login Express Toolbar, you can link to the tax.cchgroup.com home page. From the Login Express desktop icon, you can link directly to specific pages on the site, including the Tax Forum, the free Calculators, the Training Center, CPE courses, and the Online Store.
To visit the home page, click once on the Login Express system tray icon and click the Home Page button. To visit a specific page on the site, right-click the Login Express desktop icon, select Visit tax.cchgroup.com, and then select a page to visit.
You can link directly to the ClientRelate tab from Login Express.
To link to the ClientRelate tab:
Click once on the Login Express system tray icon and click the ClientRelate button.
OR
Right-click the Login Express desktop icon and select Link to the ClientRelate tab.
If you subscribe to CCH perform plus II, you can go directly to this tab on Tax Research NetWork from Login Express.
Click once on the Login Express system tray icon and click the ppII Forms button.
OR
Right-click the Login Express desktop icon and select Link to perform plus II.
Login Express Link allows you to hotlink citations in Microsoft Word documents and then link to them in Tax Research NetWork. (Available for Microsoft Word versions 97 and higher.) This feature allows you to activate a special CCH toolbar in Microsoft Word with all the functions you need to hotlink citations directly to Tax Research NetWork.

When you install Login Express, the Login Express Link toolbar is automatically added to Microsoft Word. You should see the new toolbar the next time you start the program. If you do not see the Login Express Link toolbar in Word, follow the steps below to activate the toolbar.
In Microsoft Word, click the View menu, click Toolbars, and then click CCH.
In Microsoft Word, click the View menu, click Toolbars, and then click CCH to deselect it.
The Login Express Link toolbar contains four buttons.

With the document open in Word, click the Link
or Unlink Cites button.

A progress meter will appear during the linking process. To cancel the operation at any time, click Cancel.
When the linking process is complete, a message box will appear indicating how many citations were found and linked. Click OK.
Hotlinked citations will appear underlined and will be marked with a CCH logo.

Simply click a link, and you will go right to that document on Tax Research NetWork. Note that you may need to enter your Tax Research NetWork User ID and Password.

In a Microsoft Word document that contains Login Express
hotlinks, click the Open Links for Editing
button. 
You will see a list of all the citations that are currently linked in the document.
In the Linked Citations box, click the citation you wish to edit.
The text of the citation appears in the Text box below. The destination of the linked citation (i.e., the document it links to in Tax Research NetWork) appears in the Link box. Make your edits in either or both of these boxes.
When you are finished editing the citation, click Apply.
Click OK to close the Edit Citations box.

Go directly from a citation in the Edit Citations box to that document on Tax Research NetWork
This feature allows you to check whether you have the correct citation format and number right from the Edit Citations box.
With the citation selected in the Edit Citations box, click Link to TRN.

If the citation is correct, you will be logged in and the document will appear on your screen.
Use the Citation Examples template to add a linked citation to a document
This feature allows you to add a citation (with the correct format) and hotlink it at the same time.
In a Microsoft Word document, click the Citation
Examples button. 
Scroll through the citation formats, and click the format for the document you want to link to.
The format is added to the box at the bottom of the template. Type the citation in this box.
Click OK. The linked citation is added to your document.
You can set up your ID and password from the Login Express Options dialog box as well as set other defaults.
To change your Login Express options:
Click once on the Login Express system tray icon and click the Options/Help button in the top left corner.
OR
Right-click on the Login Express desktop icon, select About Login Express, and then select Options.
In the Login ID box, type your ID. In the Password box, type your password.
You can also copy a URL from Link Express
into Login Express to directly log into a tab, a specific section on a
tab, or a document within Internet Research NetWork. Simply paste the
Link Express URL into the Login URL box.
If you want to add the Login Express icon to your Windows desktop, make sure there is a checkbox next to that item.
If you want to add the Login Express icon to your Windows system tray, make sure there is a checkbox next to that item.
Click OK to save your entries.
If you need help while using Login Express, you can access the help file right from your desktop.
Click once on the Login Express system tray icon and click the Options/Help button in the top left corner, and then click Help.
OR
Right-click the Login Express desktop icon, select About Login Express, and then select Help.
Click the Start button on the Windows taskbar.
Select Settings and then Control Panel.
Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
Click once on CCH Login Express from the list.
Click the Remove button.
Click Yes to confirm the deletion of files, if prompted.
You may receive a message asking if you want to remove certain files. Click the desired option.
Click OK.
Click Close, if prompted.
Depending
on your operating system, there may be slight differences in some of the
button names and system prompts mentioned above.
If you selected to make tax.cchgroup.com your homepage during the Login Express installation and you now want to change it, here are instructions to help you make this change.
Click the Tools menu and then select Internet Options.
At the General tab, type in a URL for your new homepage.
Click OK.
Click the Edit menu and then select Preferences.
Click once on Navigator in the Category section on the left side of the screen.
In the Home page section on the right side of the screen, type a URL in the Location box.
Click OK.
