CCH
CCH ClientRelate combines authoritative Service Analysis documents written by CCH editors with the powerful ClientRelate Wizard, which searches your ProSystem fx client data and
identifies clients that may be affected by new tax law developments,
flags clients that may benefit from additional services, and
alerts you to new service areas you might introduce into your practice.
To use CCH ClientRelate, you must have both ProSystem fx Tax and the CCH ClientRelate Wizard installed on your computer. For more information or to order CCH ClientRelate, call your CCH Representative at 1 888 CCH REPS.
CCH ClientRelate is located on a separate tab within Tax Research NetWork. This section includes the following options:
Launches the CCH ClientRelate Wizard independently. Use the ClientRelate Wizard to search for services that might benefit a specific client, to search for clients that might benefit from a particular service, or to search for clients that might be affected by a recent Tax Bulletin.

Includes authoritative documents written by CCH editors about services you may be able to offer your clients. For each service, you can view three types of documents: a Service Summary document, an Engagement Planning document, and a sample Client Letter.
Each Service Summary contains a link that automatically launches the CCH ClientRelate Wizard and searches for clients who might be candidates for the service.

Includes all CCH ClientRelate Tax Bulletins to date. Tax Bulletins alert you to recent tax developments that might impact your clients. Each Tax Bulletin includes a link that automatically launches the CCH ClientRelate Wizard and searches for clients that might be affected by the tax development.

If you subscribe to CCH taxTracker news, you
will automatically receive ClientRelate Bulletins, when available, in
your daily e-mail message.
Launches the CCH Client Letter Toolkit independently. The CCH Client Letter Toolkit allows you to search for a variety of sample letters that you can customize and send to your clients.
Log into TRN.
Click the CCH ClientRelate tab.
If you are Netscape user and the File Download dialog box appears, see Associating .DMW files with ClientRelate before continuing.
If you use a ProSystem fx User ID and Password, enter them on the Welcome to CCH ClientRelate box. If you do not use a ProSystem fx User ID and Password, simply click OK.
The ClientRelate Wizard will be updated with the most current information. The update process will take a few moments.
Once the update is complete, you are ready to use CCH ClientRelate. Click the tab for the type of search you want to perform: Search by Client, Search by Service, Tax Bulletins, or Configure (allows you to create your own list of services to include in a search).
Follow the instructions on each screen in the Wizard to perform your search. For detailed help, click the Help button at the bottom of each screen. When your search is complete, the results will display in a new window.
Log into TRN.
Click the CCH ClientRelate tab.
Click ClientRelate Federal Services or ClientRelate State Services.
A menu of services will appear. Click the service you are interested in.
A menu of documents related to the service will appear. Click the document you want to view.
If you select a Service Summary document...
You can launch CCH ClientRelate directly from the document. CCH ClientRelate will automatically search your ProSystem fx client data for clients who may be candidates for that particular service.
To launch the CCH ClientRelate Wizard from a Service Summary:
- Click the CCH ClientRelate icon at the top of the document:

- If you are Netscape user and the File Download dialog box appears, see Associating .DMW files with ClientRelate before continuing.
- If you use a ProSystem fx User ID and Password, enter them on the Welcome to CCH ClientRelate box. If you do not use a ProSystem fx User ID and Password, simply click OK.
- The ClientRelate Wizard will be updated with the most current service information. The update process will take a few moments.
- Once the update process is complete, the Search by Service screen will appear. You can customize your search criteria at this screen. Follow the instructions on the screen, and click Next to move to the next screen in the Wizard.
- Follow the instructions on each screen in the Wizard to perform your search. For detailed help, click the Help button at the bottom of each screen. When your search is complete, the results will display in a new window.
If you select an Engagement Planning document...
You can display various Practice Aids, such as worksheets and flowcharts from the document. These tools appear at the end of the document. To view a Practice Aid, select the preferred graphic format from the drop-down box on the right, and then click the Practice Aid link on the left.

If you select a Client Letter document...
Follow the instructions in the document to launch the Client Letter.
Log into TRN.
Click the CCH ClientRelate tab.
Click ClientRelate Federal Bulletins or ClientRelate State Bulletins.
A list of Bulletins will appear. Click the Bulletin you wish to view.
With the Bulletin displayed, you can launch CCH ClientRelate, which will automatically search your ProSystem fx client data for clients affected by the tax development.
