Disabling Caching

Caching allows you to store pages and documents temporarily in your browser's cache directory on your hard disk. This allows you to retrieve the information more quickly in the future because the browser can get the information from the cache rather than the original server.

To disable the caching of pages and documents, go into your browser's internet options settings and choose the option to disable the caching of pages. For more information, see the Microsoft or Netscape support pages at:

NoteDisabling caching may have an adverse effect on your research experience. For example, if you have disabled caching, when you click the Back button on your browser, you may notice significantly longer delays before the screen appears.
