GAAP Guide: Level A, by Jan Williams and Joseph Carcello

The GAAP Guide: Level A provides easy-to-follow explanations and analysis of the accounting principles of FASB Statements of Financial Accounting Standards, FASB Interpretations, APB Opinions, and Accounting Research Bulletins. To illustrate and clarify specific accounting principles, practical illustrations and examples are included.

  • Practice Pointers — Provided throughout to clearly point out, in plain English, how to apply the standards just discussed. Observations enrich the discussion by presenting interesting aspects of GAAP, such as conflicts within the authoritative literature.
  • Code References — To support your research, extensive codification references to pertinent paragraphs of the original pronouncements are included.

Miller GAAP Guide Level B, C and D, by Judith Weiss, Jan Williams and Joseph Carcello

The GAAP Guide Levels B, C, and D is the companion volume to the GAAP Guide Level A (discussed above). It analyzes authoritative GAAP literature contained in Levels B through D of the GAAP hierarchy, including FASB Technical Bulletins, AICPA Statements of Position, AICPA Industry Audit and Accounting Guides, consensus positions of the EITF, AICPA AcSEC Practice Bulletins, FASB and SEC staff announcements, FASB Implementation Guides, FASB Staff Positions, and more.

The Guide is written in clear, comprehensible language, with each pronouncement discussed in a comprehensive format that makes it easy to understand and apply. To illustrate and clarify specific accounting principles, practical illustrations and examples are provided.

Miller GAAP Financial Statement Disclosures Manual, by Judith Weiss, Jan Williams and Joseph Carcello

The GAAP Financial Statements Disclosures Manual is a complete, quick and valuable reference source for financial statement disclosures. It contains more than 900 examples of realistic, sample footnote disclosures to help you prepare financial statements for an audit, review or compilation engagement. The Manual facilitates compliance with authoritative pronouncements by integrating, in each chapter, the specific disclosure requirements with the sample footnotes.

The Manual also provides easy-to-understand, sample disclosures that cover a variety of scenarios, from the most common to the most unusual. To simplify your research, you can locate information by the disclosure topic or by the disclosure's location in the financial statement. In addition, each chapter is structured as a standalone chapter, providing you with all of the information you need for a specific topic. Also included are an executive summary, a listing of relevant authoritative literature, a listing of disclosure requirements mandated by GAAP, and specific examples of disclosures.

GAAP Update Service

Twice each month, the GAAP Update Service keeps CPAs on top of critical FASB, AICPA, and EITF pronouncements. Each issue provides reliable analyses of need-to-know, recently issued pronouncements, including FASB Statements and Interpretations, FASB Technical Bulletins, FASB and SEC staff announcements, consensus positions of the EITF, FASB Staff Positions, FASB Implementation Guides, and more.

NOTE: Beginning in 2006, we are removing the “Miller” names from all titles. However, these new editions continue to provide you with new, authoritative content and expert insight, in addition to the familiar structure and ease-of-use that you’ve come to expect from our line of accounting and engagement products.
