Learn How Best to Handle the Differences between IFRS and US GAAP
Experts say it will take at least two years to convert your clients’ policies, procedures and systems to conform with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) — which many expect to replace US GAAP early in the next decade, if not sooner. And the beginning balance sheet should be set two years prior to conversion.
Join internationally recognized accounting expert and instructor, Cecil Nazareth, CPA, M.B.A., ACA on Tuesday, March 30, in the first session of a two-part series on differences between U.S. GAAP and IFRS. This timely and informative two-hour telephone seminar explains the significant and the subtle differences between US GAAP and IFRS, as well as the ongoing convergence efforts. In Part 1, Mr. Nazareth will help you understand the sweeping implications of IFRS on your clients’ financial statements and map the critical differences between U.S. GAAP and IFRS treatment in key areas, such as Inventory, Property, Plant and Equipment (PPE), Leases, Segment Reporting, and more. (NOTE: Part 2 on April 6 will examine the differences in other key areas, such Balance Sheet – Liabilities and Equity, Financial Instruments, Income Statement and Other Comprehensive Income (OCI), Revenue Recognition, Impairment, and more.) With recent backing from the SEC and the G-20 Summit, savvy CPA firms of all sizes need to develop the expertise now to lead their clients through this monumental transformation.
If you have clients with multinational operations or performing cross-border transactions, or your firm is looking to establish an IFRS practice niche, you can’t afford to miss this CCH audio seminar. Time will be provided for you to ask questions to Mr. Nazareth via phone or e-mail
