Course Spotlight

Sales and Use Tax Courses. CCH Learning Center is committed to offering you a wide range of CPE options and hosts a variety of courses covering accounting/auditing, financial and estate planning, and business and personal tax issues. We have further expanded our catalog to include two new courses covering the basics of sales and use taxation. 

Sales and use tax management is one of today's most dynamic areas of tax law and practice. As a result of these constant changes, compliance with and planning for sales and use tax is more complicated and more important than ever. The CCH Learning Center recently released two introductory courses covering this ever-evolving area. These courses discuss how the two taxes are measured, i.e., the transactions or values included in or excluded from the tax liability:

• Sales and Use Tax: Understanding and Managing Use Tax 

Upcoming Courses

We will release many new courses in the CCH Learning Center in the weeks and months ahead to give you even more choices and more value. What's New

In addition to expanding the Learning Center to cover sales and use taxation, we are adding a series of eight courses dedicated to California tax issues. The first three courses in this series have been released to the Learning Center:

• California Tax: Navigating the New Water’s Edge Election Rules 

• California Tax: Tax Amnesty 

Several additional titles covering California taxation issues will be released over the next six weeks. These new courses will cover:

• Crackdown on abusive tax shelters

• Dividends received deduction

• Innocent spouse relief

• Net operating losses and net operating loss carryovers

• New rules for tax preparers
