CCH Study Mate™

Study MATE™ is an online learning website developed to support tax and accounting education and CCH textbooks.

Two Study MATE™ libraries - Fundamental Tax Topics and Forensic Accounting Topics - provide college students easy-to-use online tutorials to help them with difficult concepts or test them on their knowledge.

Professors can easily assign these courses as homework, as they are self-grading.

CCH textbook adopters and students who purchase these texts new have free access to the Study MATE™ library associated with their textbook for a full year! CCH developed these courses to support rather than to substitute for or replace lectures or textbooks.

Each Study MATE™ Fundamental Tax Topics or Forensic Accounting Topics course covers the most important concepts relating to specific principles or topics.

Presentations are different from those found in textbooks, so they offer students another opportunity for comprehension and clarification.

Also, since these libraries cover subject concepts and are not textbook-specific, Study MATE™ can also be purchased for use with any other publishers' textbooks [access is free only with purchase of specific CCH tax textbooks].

Online learning features capture student attention and "Test Your Knowledge" questions are introduced throughout to aid comprehension. At the end of each course, a 15-question final exam is presented. Exam questions are not easily answered - they are meant to really test student understanding of concepts covered.

Students have the opportunity to take each exam up to three times. After taking and completing an exam, students can e-mail a completion certificate to their professors.

How CCH Study MATE™ Fundamental Tax Topics or Forensic Accounting Topics courses are used is entirely up to each instructor. They can serve as homework assignments, as quizzes, as a tutor for struggling students - uses are varied and flexible.
