Learn How Cost Segregation Can Benefit Your Clients and Your Firm

Cost segregation can provide clients with significant tax benefits and offer firms an opportunity to provide a valuable service that can enhance both professional relationships and firm revenue.

Cost segregation studies are engagements conducted by tax professionals to maximize the tax benefit of real estate ownership by identifying, segregating and classifying a building's components to asset categories with the shortest possible life to create significant tax deductions sooner for federal and state income tax purposes. Application of the findings from these studies can lead to substantial reductions in current taxable income for clients by accelerating depreciation, and thereby increase cash flows.

Presented by Paul Di Nardo, CPA and Cathy Harris, CPA, the authors of CCH’s Practical Guide to Cost Segregation, this two-hour audio seminar on December 4th provides a useful review of cost segregation principles and how to conduct cost segregation studies for clients.

Program Topics

The program will include practical discussions on:

  • Goals and Benefits of Cost Segregation
  • Evolution of Cost Segregation
  • How to Conduct a Cost Segregation Study
  • How to Market Cost Segregation Services

Ample opportunity will be provided for you to ask your most pressing questions directly to Paul Di Nardo and Cathy Harris.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the benefits and practical applications that cost segregation can provide
  • Know the evolution of cost segregation and how the IRS regulations, Tax Court cases and Congressional language governing identification of property assets qualifying for a shorter recovery period and accelerated depreciation expense apply
  • Review how cost segregation studies are conducted and the necessary components of cost segregation studies
  • Identify clients and projects that may qualify for tax savings using cost segregation studies

Register today for this insightful program on Tuesday, December 4 at 1 PM Eastern, Noon Central; 10 AM Pacific.
