Learn the Latest on California Taxes and How Best to Advise Your Individual and Business Clients

This past year has seen California enact three different budgets to deal with the economic recession. The changes have been massive, with tax increases coupled with incentives which come into the law in 2011. This development requires careful planning for your multistate clients so that they will be prepared to make the best decision when the new laws become effective.

This two-hour audio seminar on Thursday, December 10, will ensure that you are up to date on all of the major tax changes related to individuals and business entities. Presented by highly decorated speaker and practitioner, Kathleen K. Wright, CPA, J.D., LL.M., M.B.A., this insightful program will include helpful tips and practical suggestions so you can advise your clients with confidence as you work with them through the relevant California tax issues. Time will be provided to ask questions directly to Ms. Wright via phone or e-mail during the program.

Topics to be addressed include:

  • Analysis of all the major statutory changes enacted in the three different budget cycles.
  • Particular focus on planning opportunities related to the 2011 changes which include an elective single sales factor apportionment formula, adoption of a statutory nexus requirement, and enactment of new sourcing rules for service based income.
